Water Use Intake Specialist
The Department of Natural Resourcesis hiring a Water Supply Specialist-Senior position in the Division of Environmental Management. This position will be stationed in the DNR Headquarters located at 101 S. Webster Street in the heart of downtown Madison, near the state capitol, the Madison Metro bus route and the Capital City bike path. In addition, there are tons of nearby restaurants and shopping venues.
In partnership with individuals and organizations, the DNR staff manage fish, wildlife, forests, parks, air, and water resources while promoting a healthy, sustainable environment and a full range of outdoor activities.

**Position Summary:** This position is responsible for implementing the high capacity well portion of the state Water Supply program by documenting, prioritizing and efficiently managing application intake, technical review, and compliance. This position also consults with customers regarding high capacity well and related water use program requirements. This work involves the independent application of technical program knowledge, and interpretation and application of state statutes, administrative codes and DNR policies and procedures.

Minimally qualified candidates will have:
* Education, training, or experience related to hydrology, geology, or natural resource management
* Experience providing customer service (e.g. via phone, in person, e-mail, etc.)
Well-qualified candidates will have:
* Education and/or experience using computer databases such as GIS software.
* Education and/or experience in well drilling and well construction.
* Experience interpreting and analyzing State Statutes and/ or Administrative Codes.
